TO COOK THE BOOKS means to falsify the accounts, in other words to do something illegal like stealing money from a company!
If someone GOES BANANAS, it doesn’t mean that he is going to eat some bananas…
TO GO BANANAS means to go out of control, to be very excited about something!
If someone USES HIS LOAF.…it doesn’t mean that he is eating some bread…
USE YOUR LOAF means use your head!
If someone is FULL OF BEANS it doesn’t mean that he has eaten a lot of beans…
FULL OF BEANS means to be full of energy and enthusiasm!
What if… you haven’t got a bean?
If someone hasn’t got a bean it means that he has no money!
If someone says..it’s a HOT POTATO..it doesn’t mean that the potato is hot!
HOT POTATO stands for BIG PROBLEM!
If someone has A FINGER IN MANY PIES…it doesn’t mean that he is trying to taste as many pies as possible!
TO HAVE A FINGER IN MANY PIES means to be involved in several situations!
If someone can’t CUT THE MUSTARD it doesn’t mean that he is not able to cut the mustard…
If you can’t CUT THE MUSTARD it means that you cannot meet the expectations!
If you HAVE A BEEF with someone, it doesn’t mean that you are having dinner at a restaurant with one of your friend!
TO HAVE A BEEF with someone means to complain or disagree over something!If you are IN THE SOUP it doesn’t mean that you’re into a bowl waiting to be served at dinner..
TO BE IN THE SOUP means to be in trouble!
If you KNOW YOUR ONIONS it doesn’t mean that you can recognize your onions…

If YOU EAT YOUR HAT, it doesn’t mean that you are hungry..
YOU EAT YOUR HAT if you want to emphasize that you don’t believe that something will happen.
If you TIGHTEN YOUR BELT it means that you have to spend less because you have no money
If you get an information STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSE’S MOUTH it means that you got the information from the person who knows most about it.
If you EAT LIKE A HORSE it means that you eat a lot!
If you are in SOMEONE’S SHOES, it doesn’t mean that I am wearing a pair of shoes that doesn’t belong to you…
TO BE IN SOMEONE’S SHOES means to feel or act as if you were in the same situation as that person!
If I say KEEP YOUR SHIRT ON, it doesn’t mean that it’s cold…
KEEP YOUR SHIRT ON means CALM DOWN, TAKE IT EASY, RELAX!
